Here is a great post from the folks at BlogSpotting on how the print story editing process differs from the blog story process. PR consultants are often asked by clients, "What happened to the story?" Meaning, how/why did the content change? Why did part of the story we originally discussed not make it to the final copy. Uderstanding the editing process will help our clients appreciate all that is involved in getting a story out the door.
Great point. Interesting to see how PR writers edit differently than advertising copywriters as well.

I think it's interesting that when editing a blog story or a print story - you have to take two different approaches. Blog stories have more of a conversational tone, so you have to take that into consideration. With print stories you have to break down the story so the content is easy enough for the average reader to understand. With blog stories you can usually dig deeper and get more technical.
